Bangkok Feb 2007

I had to post this while the memory is still fresh. Best part of Bangkok are the women. Yes this is where my blog gets juicier. I won't get into too much detail. I'll leave that to your imaginations. I have always admired Asian women, but I think the most beautiful are in Bangkok. Besides their beauty, they have a special charm that will melt any man.

I won't spend too much time on words and will let some of the pictures describe what I am talking about. I'll come back later and add some details. In any case this is any man's paradise.

Great weather, shopping, food, and plenty of women. Bangkok is easy to navigate and any hotel bell boy can advise you where to go for fun. Of course I have the good fortune of having colleagues that know the city.

Prostitution is legal and tightly controlled in Bangkok. It comes in many forms, massage parlors, turkish bath, go go bars, strip tease, and the good old street hooker. I can't describe all of these. The most obvious to me were the message parlors. Offering professional Thai body and oil massage, these places are everywhere and prices differ widely. In most places the women are behind a glass window as if in an aquarium. They watch tv to pass the time. Men sit in the lounge and pick their favorite. Some establishments have multiple quality levels. Higher quality costs more. Of course looks don't equal performance. Typical price is 700 baht for full body massage and additional 1500 baht for full service. Some places we visited, just for a look, charged 6000 baht. Of course as an American always expect to pay more...and like shopping for cars, be prepared to walk out.

I had Saturday free so I went down to the Chatuchak weekend market. Not so much to shop but view the fine scenary. If there is any time a telephoto lens would be usefull it would have been yesterday. I took the sky train from the JW Mariott Hotel. Took the subway back via entertainment district near Hua Kwai station. The weekend market is a well known tourist spot and many good deals are to be had. Plenty of local food and drink.

I like the girl on the left and my poor photography does not do her justice.

The girl on the left is 21 and comes from eastern
Thailand. She and her family have one of the larger stalls at the market and sell all kinds of jewelry. They are here every weekend. It's difficult to sneak a pic with my camera as I need to be pretty close when photographing indoors.

I have to recommend the Nataree turkish bath and entertainment center. It is across from the SwissHotel. A number of other massage places are clustered around the area. The Nataree treated us very well and did not charge an American tax, even for just a look. Take the subway to the Huai Kwai stop. I am told that for 2200 Baht ($62) you will have the best 2 hours of your life. Others recommended were the Cupid, Chophaya 2, Happy House, Embassy and the Utopia. As you can imagine from the photos, there is an abundance of entertainment for men in this fine city.
Thai oil massage is new to me. The lady you choose will do the massage and anything else you desire. No room/girl changes, negotiations, interruptions, or anything else that could disrupt the mood. The Chinese could learn from the Thai. What I was told in Bangkok, sounds similar to a place called the Holiday House in Dongguan that I heard about. Eric tells me the Holiday House is up for sale.

At most of these turkish/massage places you can eat dinner, drink, and just hang out while you pick your massage.

Walking around town on Sat night I did see a few lady-boys running around with some older American men. I got a chuckle from the scene. With so many natural beauties, why anyone would pursue something artificial is beyond me.

Wachtel - I learned all from you. You need to post some Taiwan in the 60's stories. Don't keep them to yourself.
