Suizhou City Hubei Province for the Lunar New Year

I had the fine privilege of visiting my colleague's home village near Suizhou in northern Hubei province this week for the New Year. I was warmly welcomed by all of Auden's extended family and enjoyed great food and bei jiu. Here are some photos of life in the country side around the New Year .

Below is young lady with her father. She apparantly is home for the holiday fest, perhaps from one of the factories in the East.

The table is set for the big meal on the last day of the New Year.

Just before dinner, in celebration, a long string of firecrackers is lit. 10 minutes it took for this string to run out.
Auden showing off is love for traditional music. His older brothering playing the Irhu. Not sure if I have the spelling correct.
Mama and I enjoy the sun shine.

One of many visits to extended family in the village. More food and beijiu!

Ladies playing Majong, which I yet to learn.
